John Grillo, CFP®, MBA
John began his career in 1985 working as an engineer and project manager in the aerospace and medical fields. During that time, he earned two United States patents for innovative new valve and fluid sealing components. He became interested in financial planning while earning his MBA and working with his father, Lino. With more than 45 years in the financial services industry, Lee has served as an invaluable mentor and coach.
John earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut in 1991 with a major in finance. He also holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College where he graduated cum laude. In 1998, he obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ certification from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. In addition, he currently holds the following securities and insurance licenses: FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, and 99; life, accident, and sickness; variable products.
John coached youth soccer and high school tennis and previously served on the board of directors of Alice’s House, a community group home, Sunset Hills Country Club, and Tanner Medical Foundation. John is an avid sailor and holds his Coast Guard 50-ton Masters Captains License as well as American Sailing Association (ASA) certifications 101, 103, 104, 105 and 114. He is also an ASA instructor for each of the certifications. John resides in Carrollton, Georgia, with his wife Robyn and has two grown children, Emma-Lee and Jackson.
